Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how Student Workspace Gear handles information when you visit studentworkspacegear.com, use our buying tools, follow affiliate links, or contact us.

Who operates this website

Student Workspace Gear is an independent website providing research-based buying guides and tools for student workspaces. You can contact the site operator about this policy at [email protected].

We do not provide customer accounts or process purchases on this website. Purchases through our links take place on a retailer’s website.

Information we handle

  • Website usage: pages visited, referral sources, browser and device information, approximate location, and interactions with guides, product links, and tools may be processed by our analytics and hosting providers. These providers may receive technical information such as your IP address when your browser connects to their services.
  • Tool selections: our Product Finder, Power Bank Checker, Projector Fit Checker, and related planners use your selections in your browser to produce recommendations. Selected answers, laptop models, room measurements, results, and link interactions may also be sent as analytics events. These tools do not ask for your name, email address, or payment details.
  • Contact messages: if you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for your question.

We use this information to provide the website and its tools, answer messages, improve our guides, understand traffic and affiliate-link activity, and maintain website security.

Google Analytics and hosting

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics may use cookies and browser identifiers to measure visits and interactions. Our custom events include product and guide identifiers, link placements, and tool selections; they are not designed to include names or email addresses.

Google processes information under its own policies. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site. Hosting and security services may process request information to deliver pages, diagnose problems, and protect against abuse. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

Affiliate links and external websites

We use Amazon Associates and PartnerBoost affiliate links. When you follow a purchase link, the retailer or affiliate network may process technical information, identifiers, cookies, and purchase-attribution information under its own privacy policy. We may receive click, order, and commission reports. These reports are used to assess our affiliate activity.

External retailers handle their own checkout, payment, shipping, and customer information. We do not receive your payment-card details through our website. Review the privacy policy of the destination website before submitting personal information there.

Google AdSense and advertising

Current status: as of the date above, we have added an AdSense account-verification tag. We have not enabled the AdSense advertising script or display-ad placements on this site. The verification tag alone does not serve ads.

If we enable Google advertising, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of Google personalized advertising through Google Ad Settings. Other participating vendors offer choices through AboutAds and their own privacy settings. Turning off personalized advertising does not necessarily stop all advertising or measurement.

Before enabling advertising, we will update this policy to reflect the active advertising services and configure the applicable consent and privacy-choice tools. No advertising consent message is currently installed by the verification tag.

Cookies, browser storage, and your choices

Google Analytics may set measurement cookies. We also use browser storage to remember internal testing and analytics-exclusion settings; some of these settings last for the browser session and others remain until cleared. Retailers and affiliate networks may use their own cookies when you visit their services.

You can delete stored website data and control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect measurement or some website features. Clearing cookies does not prevent every type of technical data processing.

You can also use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers. This is a Google-provided control and does not disable tracking by every other service.

Retention, security, and service providers

Contact correspondence is kept as needed to respond to your message, maintain relevant records, and meet applicable obligations. Analytics and technical records are retained according to the relevant service settings and provider policies. Browser-stored settings can be removed using your browser’s website-data controls.

Our hosting, analytics, affiliate, and email providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their policies describe their processing practices and safeguards. We take reasonable care with the information available to us, but no internet service or method of storage can guarantee absolute security.

Privacy questions and requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact [email protected] with your request. We may need information to verify that the request relates to you; please do not send identity documents unless we explain why they are needed.

We can address information under our control. Requests about information held directly by a retailer or another provider may need to be sent to that provider. We do not intentionally collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has supplied personal information to us, please contact us.

We may revise this policy when our services or data practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. For other questions, visit our Contact page.
