Three choices that matter more than advertised 4K
1. App licensing
“Built-in apps” is not automatically official Google TV. Decide whether you need integrated streaming, or can use an HDMI stick.
2. Image geometry
Measure lens-to-wall distance and available wall width. We do not infer throw ratios or exact screen sizes from a model name or ANSI figure.
3. Actual environment
Claimed ANSI lumens do not guarantee daylight usability. A darkened room, image size and screen surface are crucial.
Unsure how to measure a dorm wall? Read the room-measurement guide. Its numerical planner covers only models with documented throw geometry; it does not estimate sizes for unverified HAPPRUN models.
Five HAPPRUN models, in detail
Ordered by typical October 9 price tier, not by expected affiliate payout. Each link points to the exact ASIN listed. Confirm the current offer and return policy before making a decision.

01 / Lower-cost smart option
HAPPRUN Built-in Apps / 30W
Best for: Someone who wants a more affordable connected projector and can confirm their preferred apps on the exact listing.
Check first: Native resolution and app access need checking.
Observed offer on October 9, 2026: $151.96. Not a live quote. Price, availability and commission terms can change.
(paid link)
Full limitation: The PartnerBoost product title claims built-in apps and 30W Dolby audio; we have not verified a licensed Google TV platform, native panel resolution or app compatibility for this ASIN.
Exact Amazon ASIN: B0FDQFD1R7
Documented differences
- Resolution
- 4K decoding in listing; native panel not independently verified
- Brightness
- ANSI measurement not verified for this exact ASIN
- Streaming
- Built-in apps per product listing; not verified as official Google TV
- Setup
- Check focus, keystone and throw guidance for this exact ASIN
- Audio
- 30W Dolby audio stated in the product listing; not tested
Source and uncertainty notes
- Only a marketplace listing supports the built-in-apps and 30W claims for this ASIN.
- A product listed as “4K decoding” is not thereby native 4K.
Identity and product claims currently come from the October 9 PartnerBoost product listing; additional manufacturer documentation for this exact ASIN is needed.

02 / Licensed streaming option
HAPPRUN 1500 ANSI Google TV
Best for: Buyers who prioritize a Google TV streaming experience at a midrange budget.
Check first: Measure throw distance; brightness is untested.
Observed offer on October 9, 2026: $238.17. Not a live quote. Price, availability and commission terms can change.
(paid link)
Full limitation: 1500 ANSI is a manufacturer-stated figure, not a SWG measurement. Check throw distance and the exact listing; 4K decoding is not proof of a native 4K panel.
Exact Amazon ASIN: B0FDQFZ6HM
Documented differences
- Resolution
- Native 1920 × 1080 claimed on official J7 Pro page linked to this exact ASIN
- Brightness
- 1500 ANSI lumens, manufacturer claim
- Streaming
- Official Google TV per manufacturer page and PartnerBoost listing
- Setup
- Auto focus and auto keystone listed on official J7 Pro page
- Audio
- Manufacturer J7 Pro family lists Dolby audio; no SWG listening test
Source and uncertainty notes
- PartnerBoost supplied this ASIN with “Official Google TV” in the product title.
- Official J7 Pro product page links directly to Amazon ASIN B0FDQFZ6HM, and lists native 1080p, 1500 ANSI and auto setup.

03 / External streaming / flexible inputs
HAPPRUN 2000 ANSI Wi-Fi
Best for: Someone who already owns a streaming stick or console and values manufacturer-listed auto setup.
Check first: Do not assume built-in Google TV.
Observed offer on October 9, 2026: $255.49. Not a live quote. Price, availability and commission terms can change.
(paid link)
Full limitation: Do not confuse this JQ820-type listing with an official Google TV model. The manufacturer says some protected streaming apps need a compatible external streaming device.
Exact Amazon ASIN: B0DDT9FQCQ
Documented differences
- Resolution
- 4K decoding listed; native 4K not established
- Brightness
- 2000 ANSI lumens, manufacturer claim
- Streaming
- External TV stick / Chromecast for some protected apps
- Setup
- Manufacturer lists auto focus, auto keystone, two HDMI inputs and USB
- Audio
- Manufacturer lists built-in 8W speaker; not tested
Source and uncertainty notes
- Manufacturer JQ820 documentation lists 2000 ANSI, auto focus and a 4K decoding capability.
- Manufacturer cautions that protected streaming apps may require an external stick; brightness has not been measured by SWG.

04 / 510G Google TV alternative
HAPPRUN 510G Google TV
Best for: Someone comparing this specific 510G Google TV design with the less expensive 1500 ANSI model.
Check first: Manual focus; higher price does not imply better image quality.
Observed offer on October 9, 2026: $369.99. Not a live quote. Price, availability and commission terms can change.
(paid link)
Full limitation: The reviewed 510G manual describes manual focus and one 5W speaker. A higher list price alone does not establish a brighter or sharper picture than the 1500 ANSI model.
Exact Amazon ASIN: B0DJXRGJ66
Documented differences
- Resolution
- Manual lists 1920 × 1080, but native-panel designation is not established
- Brightness
- 400 ANSI lumens stated on HAPPRUN 510G page; not independently tested
- Streaming
- Google TV per manufacturer 510G documentation
- Setup
- Manual focus and electric/manual keystone per manual
- Audio
- One 5W speaker per manual
Source and uncertainty notes
- The manufacturer 510G manual documents Google TV, focus and keystone configuration.
- The 510G product page states 400 ANSI; the J7 Pro page states 1500 ANSI. Both are manufacturer claims, not side-by-side measurements. A higher price does not prove a brighter image or native 4K panel.

05 / Premium / larger-space candidate
HAPPRUN K7 Pro Google TV
Best for: Buyers planning a higher-budget, more permanent room or controlled-light outdoor setup.
Check first: 1080p display; daylight use is not verified.
Observed offer on October 9, 2026: $474.96. Not a live quote. Price, availability and commission terms can change.
(paid link)
Full limitation: 3000 ANSI is a manufacturer brightness claim, not a measured daylight guarantee. The manual records a 1920 × 1080 display; 4K support is not native 4K.
Exact Amazon ASIN: B0G78PKNCJ
Documented differences
- Resolution
- 1920 × 1080 panel listed in K7 Pro manual; 4K input support
- Brightness
- 3000 ANSI lumens, manufacturer claim
- Streaming
- Official Google TV per manufacturer listing
- Setup
- Auto focus and keystone in K7 Pro manual
- Audio
- Two 10W speakers / Dolby Audio listed, not tested
Source and uncertainty notes
- K7 Pro manual and manufacturer sources list Google TV, auto setup and 1080p display.
- SWG has not independently tested brightness, gaming input lag, audio, noise or outdoor performance.
Which upgrade makes sense?
1500 ANSI Google TV vs 2000 ANSI Wi-Fi
Choose based on your streaming setup first: one advertises official Google TV, while the other is documented as needing a compatible HDMI streaming source for some protected apps. Both brightness numbers are seller/manufacturer claims; do not infer that the 2000 figure will produce an objectively superior picture in every room.
1500 ANSI Google TV vs 510G
Both offer a Google TV route, but the 510G manual records manual focus and its manufacturer page claims 400 ANSI, versus the J7 Pro’s claimed 1500 ANSI. Those claims are not independent same-condition brightness tests. A higher 510G price alone is not a reason to call it the better buy; compare setup ergonomics, exact inputs and current pricing.
1500 ANSI Google TV vs K7 Pro
The K7 Pro is the higher-budget option with a larger body, manufacturer-listed dual 10W speakers and claimed 3000 ANSI lumens. It may suit planned evening outdoor setups, but the stated brightness is not independently measured, and 4K compatibility does not mean native 4K.
The practical verdict
Do not pay for an upgrade you cannot use
Budget around $150–$220: consider the Built-in Apps / 30W listing only after checking the exact apps, image geometry and native panel on its ASIN.
Budget around $220–$320: the 1500 ANSI Google TV option is a starting point for integrated streaming; the 2000 ANSI Wi-Fi option deserves attention if you already own a streaming device.
Budget above $320: examine the 510G carefully rather than assuming it is superior. Consider the K7 Pro only if your room, evening outdoor plans, installation and budget justify it.
Under $150, for gaming, or in strong daylight: these five do not give us enough evidence to promise a suitable match. Compare other brands and budget setups →
Frequently asked questions
Does “4K decoding” mean native 4K?
No. A projector can decode a 4K signal and display it using a lower-resolution panel. The K7 Pro manual lists a 1920 × 1080 display; avoid assuming 4K panel resolution from a product title.
Are 1500, 2000 and 3000 ANSI brightness figures comparable?
They are advertised manufacturer claims for different models, not independently standardized measurements from SWG. Room light, image size and screen surface all affect apparent brightness. None is guaranteed for bright daylight viewing.
Can I watch Netflix or Prime Video without a streaming stick?
The J7 Pro-family 1500 ANSI listing and the 510G/K7 Pro listings identify Google TV. The 2000 ANSI JQ820-type listing warns that some protected apps require an external compatible stick. Built-in apps on the lower-priced model are not verified as official Google TV. Check the exact current listing and app rights before buying.
Is the most expensive HAPPRUN the best one?
Not automatically. A small bedroom, modest budget or existing HDMI stick may favor a lower-priced model. The K7 Pro is a more expensive candidate for larger or evening outdoor setups, but manufacturer brightness claims do not guarantee a better real-room result.
Will one of these fit a 7–8 foot dorm projection distance?
A product price and a brightness number cannot answer that. Check the exact model’s throw ratio, lens-to-wall distance and usable wall width. We do not calculate unverified screen sizes for these five models.
Sources, editorial method and offer limits
Exact ASINs, listing names and price snapshots were supplied from PartnerBoost on October 9, 2026. Manufacturer product pages and manuals are cited under relevant models. Some model-family documentation may not establish a complete feature match to an Amazon variant; uncertainties are shown instead of filled with guesses.
SWG has not purchased or personally tested these units. No independent brightness, input-lag, reliability or audio conclusions are made here. “4K decoding” is not a native-4K claim. Retail promotions and affiliate fees vary over time. Read the affiliate policy →
