Why spend this much? Both laptops can stay connected. You switch two monitors, mouse, keyboard and dock peripherals together, while each suitable laptop can receive up to 60W charging.
Check first: USB-C charging alone is insufficient. Confirm DP Alt Mode/MST and note that Mac external screens usually mirror.

What are you actually paying for?
Think of a personal laptop and a work laptop sharing your desk. A cheap USB switch may move your keyboard and mouse, but not your two video signals. The C20 combines shared monitors with docking functions so you do not repeatedly swap display cables.
One shared workstation
Two HDMI monitors plus connected peripherals can move together between the two laptop hosts.
Charging with fewer adapters
AV Access rates charging at up to 60W for each connected laptop simultaneously; higher-power laptops may need their own charger.
Fewer display resets
EDID emulation is designed to reduce screen flicker and icon rearrangement during switches.
Who should save their money? If you only share a mouse and keyboard, rarely change machines, or have a single monitor, a much cheaper USB switch may be enough.

Fast check: You need two video-capable Windows USB-C laptops, two HDMI displays and acceptable 60W laptop charging.
All five compatibility checks ↓
- Both host USB-C ports must carry display video. Charging or USB data alone is not enough for dual monitors.
- Windows MST must be supported to achieve two independently extended external displays over the advertised dual-4K@60Hz path. Verify each laptop and its GPU specifications.
- Your screens need HDMI connectivity. C20 has two HDMI monitor outputs; cables, monitor electronics and settings affect real resolution and refresh rate.
- 60W charging is a limit, not a promise of full-load power. Large gaming/workstation laptops may still need separate chargers.
- Know the switching method. Normal KVM Mode follows one laptop with both displays. The wired EXB01 remote is optional for C20, not included with the basic unit.
KVM Mode vs USB Mode: avoid confusion
KVM Mode
Both displays and the shared keyboard/mouse switch to the chosen laptop. This is the ordinary dual-monitor KVM workflow.
USB Mode — firmware dependent
One computer can stay on each screen while you switch the shared USB controls. AV Access requires updated firmware for this separate mode; verify your installed version.
These modes do not automatically share a clipboard or transfer files between the two computers. Bluetooth devices paired directly to one laptop also do not magically switch pairing.
Two suitable Windows laptops? Check the exact C20 listing
If both laptops provide video-capable USB-C, two HDMI monitors and 60W per laptop fit your desk, the C20 deserves a price check. Otherwise wait until compatibility is confirmed.

What if one computer is a desktop?
C20 is intended for two USB-C laptop-style host connections. With a Windows laptop and a desktop that has HDMI + DisplayPort outputs, read our B10 laptop + desktop buying guide → first. If you cannot choose yet, compare C20 vs B10 →.
C20 buyer questions
Will C20 charge both laptops even when one is inactive?
AV Access states that the two connected laptops can each receive up to 60W at the same time. High-load computers may still need additional power.
Can I connect a desktop or game console via HDMI?
The C20 does not provide ordinary HDMI/DisplayPort desktop video inputs. Its host ports are USB-C. Confirm any unusual USB-C video-output arrangement with the manufacturer.
Can my MacBook extend two independent external screens?
Do not assume so. C20 normally mirrors under macOS when trying to use the Windows MST split-display path.
Have you tested this dock physically?
No. This is a source-based decision guide. SWG has not independently measured switching delay, thermals, USB speed or long-term reliability.
